the Vaettir in Drakkar lake just outside sifhalla dropped me a req 8/16 armor shield of the wing blue last weekend :]

they seem rather low lvl but maybe a nice spot to farm em?

ive picked up a few r8 items in the snowman dungeon, mostly blue and nothing of too much interest so far. though the majority of what i see drop are shields in that area. apologies if somebody already said anything about this before i posted (im a lazy read at times

Recently dropped for me, ive a few others too. I have a r8 Eagle Defender which is pretty nice.

I can't really say where I got it, just generally fighting (and actually, kinda better in NM as you hit the fine line between a r8 15al and a r8 16al.

From the Spectral Vaettirs (on my Obsidian Flesh ele, not keg farming) in HM -

Finally, from the Kournan mobs outside the castle thing in the Rilohn Refuge mission in NM -

Honestly it's just random, I wouldn't know where to tell you to farm.

I got a q7 tactics 15 AR rare Great Conch when I accidentally forgot to switch to NM when I farmed the raptors during one of the events. Great Couch drops quite a bit during raptor runs so if you really want to try for a q7 15 AR, then NM raptor runs is the way to go.

Despite the hideous look, I was happy with the shield, as stated above, it is a very nice shield (stat wise) in PvP. Namely for monks. When I PvP with my monk and am using a stance such as Balanced / Discipline / Bonetti's or whatever, attribute distribution allows me to fit in 8 points in tactics. Since it is a q7 tactics shield, my monk has an additional 15 armor instead of 8 (max shield without meeting requirement gives half armor bonus). Now why not use a q8 shield instead? Two reasons:
- If you someone inflicts weakness on you, you'll have 7 in tactics, thus no longer meeting the shield requirement if you were using a q8 shield.
- I am not sure if there's a nice attribute distribution for 7 in tactics but 8 in tactics was a nice breakpoint for some stances before the nerf anyway.

It has been confirmed that Q7 maxed weapons and shields no longer drop, I believe. They did in the beginning but were very rare. In a later update the minimum requirement was upped by one so to speak. Now, Q8 maxed weapons and shields are possible, but are usually light blue ones. I have gotten several of them, and they do still drop but quite rarely.
My most rare q7 drop is this shield I got in the good old days on a Hydra farm run in the desert.
Defender (gold)
Armor 16: (Requires 7 strength)
Health +44 (while Enchanted)
Received physical damage -3 (while hexed)

I donated to Retcute But Deadly. She has a very impressive collection on her website. I think she also has my old Q8 eternal shield inthere somewhere.

When you farms raptors, a lot of 16 armor r8 tactics inscribable blue conches drop. I've dumped a ton of them for around 10k each. Alway look carefully at blue shields from EotN and Nightfall for 16 armor r8 - they are often times inscribable.

Yesterday, I just opened a chest in NM Factions mission Nahpui Quarter, and out dropped a gold 'large' spiked shield, 16 armor r8 strength. I've stashed it away, unidentified! Also, about 2 years ago, the same 16 armor r8 'large' spiked shield dropped for me in EotN (forget details, back when I was starting out)...

I've found the floor in DoA after a full DwG run to be one of the best places to farm these.

I've had a q8 conch from warband hm, and 7s/8s from raptors in both nm and hm while getting my warrior's asura rank from 3-9 (so a few runs..).

People rarely check their blues, so thats about the best thing you can "exploit" in my opinion.
